I am looking into electronic document storage for our admin department and wondered if any of you guys have gone down this route yet for storage and archiving of invoices and other such paper work.
The actual physical storage is not a problem as I have a couple of terrastores that I plan to use, what I after is they way to "Scan and Store".
Ideally it would be done from a central scanning location but how then would we define folders and directories.
Any thoughts would be great.

if got sims ad-hoc methord central networked scanner of some kind and then use document storage of sims software

If you look closely at document storage in sims then you would never use it! It stores all the files with what appears to be random names in random folders on the server. I have read more than one case where every single linked document vanished after a sims upgrade!

upfront I dont use it here just know it can be used...

We have a networked scanner with an automatic document feeder on it hooked into Acrobat Pro, very simple setup and easy to use.

Heard about Knowledge Tree, don't know how good it is though.
Have looked at SIMS but given the issues we have had getting it to do basic things and now that it is working I don't want to rock the boat.
@Indie, I would be intrested in the setup that you have seems simple, and as we know the simple things tend to be the best.
@Webman, i'll take a look and let you know.

I use HP Digital Senders (expensive about £2K) but they work well. Also use the photocopiers Scan to E-mail function, and TBH they are the best bet, the scan / print unit for them is only £300 and they scan much faster than the HPs so its brill.
