Just a quick question now I've got WSS running

When adding groups to a SharePoint site (say our IT security group) it doesn't send emails to the users (we split the security groups away from distribution groups now) so only way to keep the email functionality is to add the users one by one?

Just wondering if that's right or have I missed something?
