Hi, All
Happy New Year
I have a issue with a Lenovo 3000 N200 Laptop with Windows XP Professional Installed. Some times when I try to click on my username to type in my password it will make a big beeping noise. I have restarted my Laptop & logged in with Safe mode on numerous occasions & this has solved the problem, but it will keep re-occurring. I Laptop has local account & is not networked.
I would really appreciate help to fix this problem once & for all.
Many Thanks
JAW$

Have you changed your password recently? I have seen this with the HP password storing software, it might have a wrong password stored for your username - try removing any lenovo security software and see if you still have the problem

It could be something to do with the Lenovo pre-installed security software though.
I have some of those laptops here & the first thing I do is remove all of the manufacturers software, it only slows the machines down & is not really required.

I have not changed my password recently, I have numerous Laptops with the same build on & all seem to keep having this problem. I also have about 40 different model Lenovo Laptops & they all work fine.
Also when I mentioned that I could not login before, I meant I could not even type in my password because the icon does not change when I click on it & instead makes a beeping noise.
Thanks

8th January 2009, 06:31 PM #7 We've got some of these models too, what we have found is that people press FN+ALT+DEL, not CTRL+ALT+DEL, which gives them the num lock, and then tthey don't notice it.
Do you have the Lenovo Fingerprint software installed or running ? As this starts before the normal windows GINA.
[ Actually, random beeping at startup, I'd be inclined to blow compressed air through the keyboard, and check for "dampness". ]

He meant that it beeps @ the welcome screen, when he clicks on the user to logon.
