Having trouble trying to do an administrative install at the moment...
Got the offline installer, ran it, found the MSI in temp dir...
Now keep getting the error saying the Data1.cab file is missing (which it is).
Anyone got a work ed of this which I can steal (or the setup.exe which I can have anyway?)
Cheers
Mark

when you get the MSI you need to get all the other files and folders that lives in the same folder as the setup.msi including Data1.cab
The MSI uses these files when installing.

Use this guide and copy the MSI and CAB file, then copy them to the same installation directory. Then just deploy the MSI and that's all there is to it.
Yeah, I know that I need to copy all the folders and files from the temp directory, but there aren't any others besides a single msi file, and mst file, and some log file (all of which I copied out to another directory??)
Never had a problem before today (currently on 6u7), just on this version (6u11).

Just followed your guide, and the data1cab was present...
Cheers anyway!

we just install the OpenOffice MSI, that installs java automatically

Java 6 Update 11 is now part of the Logistix Plugins Plus Pack (Revision 2)![]()
Mmm.. but has update 11 fixed the broken (silent) uninstallation of update 10 or not? Or doesn't anyone care about things uninstalling?
Everyone else who tried uninstalling 10 appears to have hit the same issue as me i.e. it won't uninstall unless you stop the quick-start service first.
When looking at that I discovered there are command line switches for the quick start service EXE, one of which claims to removes it completely (who needs it anyway?). So you might want to do that at install time.

I did install Java 6 Update 10 when it was released, but quickly uninstalled it as it caused me problems and went back to Java 6 Update 7.
I've since tested Java 6 Update 11 and it has worked fine. If you install version 11 over version 10, Windows will use the newer version/files so you shouldn't have the need to uninstall.
I totallly missed out 6 update 10....seemed far too many problems with it that I researched. Just gone straight from 6u7 at the moment to 6u11.
Should be rolling it out tommorow

I'm just looking into deploying 6 update 13 is anyone leaving the quick start service running or are you turning it off during install?
