Print Manager 6... Help
Hi there,
I have just installed Print manager this morning having being requested to by our ICT Co-ordinator to try to cut down printing usage.. and i'm having a really big problem..
I've installed it as normal and created two limits on Pupils and Teachers so they can only print so much per year.
and it's just not picking up that people are printing..
its asif when people print it totally bypasses the print manager.
Please help.

11th December 2008, 12:40 PM #3 Is the Print Manager Plus service running? You can check this within the console itself.
I'd also recommend you stop and start the spooler service too.

Code:
@ECHO OFF
NET STOP "TCP/IP Print Server"
NET STOP "Print Manager Plus"
NET STOP spooler
NET START "TCP/IP Print Server"
NET START "Print Manager Plus"
Pause

11th December 2008, 02:06 PM #11 How are you deploying the printers? Group Policy or using scripts? Are network printers installed in a standard way, or do they point to a locally created port?

I always install the EUIT on workstations, but I didn't think it would stop PMP from reporting print jobs? Unless it sends information to the PMP database?

I have had problems with EUIT after an update in the summer term - I forget the versions involved and am at home now, so can't check. The end result, after a lengthy phone call from PMP support in the US (fortunately they called me) and them remoting in to our network, was that we ended up using the newer version of the PMP on the server and the previous version of EUIT. It shouldn't have worked, but it did!
adameye, I can let you have the email address of the guy I contacted if you want it - it'll have to be tomorrow though as that's at school too!

Reason: Incorrect info about EUIT

11th December 2008, 06:49 PM #15 @elsiegee40 - I hate to disagree but we have had PMP installed here for years and none of our computers have the EUIT. We are now on version 6 and the only issue we have at the moment is the system not refreshing quotas after a weekend like it should.
