    Unblocking MSN messenger

A bit different to the normal topics obout MSN messenger but I'm trying to unblock the application.

What server addresses does MSN use? I'm thinking they are blocked on our cachepilot.

I think I have the correct ports open but is there anything else I should look at?

Depends on the version, if its 6.0 or over it never uses the proxy server, even when forced. They havn't fixed it and they are on 9.5 or something now.

Your best bet is to use "Windows Messenger" which comes with XP Pro (and can be downloaded for 2k, server 2003 and Vista I think), that will do the trick and use the correct proxy server.

Also, it uses a random server from a shedload of servers.

Do you have a reference to this online as I'm interested ... - It doesn't appear to be the case here, in that if you don't define the proxy it won't connect, if you do, it will.
