    Sorry if i missed it, but when you say u cant log on locally, and you changed the computer name - is the computer attached to a domain at all?

    If so, there lies the problem I'd guess - especially if u have something set in the GP that may suddenly come into affect with this new computer name [if it even allowed it] i.e. a "prevent local log on" type security policy

    Gonna take a lot of work to stop these things then? lol

    Allow Progs list hex path as well as exe
    Password protect bios boot order HDD then net boot, no option for FDD or CD boot!

    Just remove staff & pupils from the computers - they'll all work perfectly from that point on

    A local high school here has a suite of PCs like that - all turned off - none working - show visitors pretending it is!
