server 2003 event log entries - too many!
Hey all,
Found an off issue with one of our servers today, events being logged at several dozen a second, but none are actually errors. Mostly (99%) are "information" in the various sections.
Any idea how to reduce this? I can filter them out but I'd rather just not have them getting logged as a vast majority of the information is frankly useless if we had any issues anyway!
I did notice, just before I left that the server was still on server 2003 SP1, so I might get SP2 on it tomorrow morning.

Event viewer information is never useless when trouble shooting a server - so I suggest you export the data before you start deleting it.......
Just want to add if you log a call with MS regarding a problem with a server they will ask you for the event logs up to a point too.
