using WDS to deploy xp Vostro1510

I was wondering if anyone has managed to get WDS to deploy images onto dell vostro laptops.

i have tried injecting drivers on both the boot image and the laptop image but have not had much luck

i have got 32 laptops to image so any help would be really appreciated.

I've never tried injecting drivers for XP, I just make the XP image the same old way, and use imagex to capture and deploy the image. Seems to me that most of the WDS documentation only applies to Vista

Is WDS in mixed or native mode ?

Easy guide for XP capture/deploy images in native mode
Deploy XP Images in the Computer Lab with Windows Deployment Services on Server 2003.

If you are in mixed mode then make sure you have added the inf/sys files to both i386 and $oem$ folders of your base build.

The WDS Server is in Native Mode.

I'll have to look into capturing and deploying the image with imagex.

I had problems with WDS and Vostros. What I did was format the drive using an XP cd because I had partition problems. Then I injected XP and Vista network card drivers. WDS uses the fluffy bunny look of Vista which I don't like much. YUCK!!

Then WDS played ball and got an image woooo!!

Oh yeah forgot to mention that I stuck the drivers in both Capture and Setup images. kinda went mad and stuck both 32 and 64 bit drivers in for XP and Vista to cover all bases.

I rebooted the server, created a capture and deploy image again and add vista nic drivers to the boot images using imagex and it decides to work now.

I bet rebooting the server cured the problem.

well anyway.. problem sorted thanks for every ones help.
