We use the networked HP 2015n printers all around school.
Usually to set them up I plug them in to the network then install HP's bloatware software to find out the IP address.
This takes about 15 minutes to do every time and I'm wondering if there is a better way to simply find out the printers IP? I can then install them on our print server very quickly its just finding the IP that takes the time.

17th October 2008, 10:36 AM #2 Just press the green 'on' button for 4-5 seconds.
This will print out three config pages containing the aquired ip address.
Edit: The printer has to be plugged into the network for a few seconds first so that it gets an ip from dhcp.

17th October 2008, 10:37 AM #3 2015 printer to use a static IP address you first need to log into it. By default it will use a DHCP address given out by your router. So you'll have to determine the IP address that it is given. If you hold down the green button on top of the printer for 5 seconds, a configuration page will be printed, including the network configuration with the IP address. To log into the printer enter the IP address into your browser.
