Personally we are totally XP here and going to skip vista and go straight for Windows 7 when its released.
I was just wondering what others are planning.

3rd October 2008, 12:11 PM #2 Totally XP and Server 2003 at all my sites. There's just no rush to adopt Vista. XP will be supported until the year 2014.

We are, for the time being, working on the theory if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Im working on the theory that you dont take steps backwards therefore we will also be missing Vista out.

3rd October 2008, 02:26 PM #12 got 4 vista laptops in which some of the younger more capable staff are using as guinee pigs but the rest is xp and all new purchases will be xp till they stop letting us get it

3rd October 2008, 02:33 PM #13 Have three vista laptops here and XP through out, server 2003 on servers. The vista machines are a complete nightmare, they have problems on the domain, they don't pick up group policies. I admit we have just got them, so there maybe some fix out there i don't know about, but at the moment i would happily change back to XP.
I have suggested it over and over, but some reason they want to keep trying vista even though they moan and complain about it, surely using what you already know would be the better option.

3rd October 2008, 02:45 PM #14 XP Laptops/PCs. Some thin clients. Server room is 50/50 Windows 2003/Linux. We have 2k8 DCs though.

3rd October 2008, 02:49 PM #15 Pupil Domain is entirely Windows Vista with a mix of Server 2003 & Server 2008
Staff Is mix of XP and vista and all Windows 2003 servers.
Any new PCs or Laptops get loaded with Vista - If a PC can reasonably cope with Vista then it gets installed if currently system crashes.
