slow right click context menu for new option

Might be a mac problem but not sure why. Right clicking in explorer and choosing new pops up a list of alternative new file types to create. Unless we do this on our Macs (running xp sp2). The media for XP is the same on PCs and macs and the software is all installed using wpkg so there should be no difference. On a PC the list appears within 2 seconds. On the mac (core2 duo) it takes over a minute before it appears. Other than the delay we can't see any difference.

    Anybody got any ideas?

I seem to remember this was a bug back in the XP SP1 days. The context menu was extremely slow, but I believe this was fixed in XP SP2. You may want to take a look at XP SP3 too. It contains over 1000 fixes so is definitely well worth looking at.
