We are using a mandatory profiles but whenever a user launches a microsoft application it starts to launch something like a setup wizard and then the user information box appears and the application opens.
This is for all microsoft applications.

Take a look at this thread. Creating a small mandatory profile
With many products it is worthwhile using them when the profile isn't mandatory. Then make the profile madatory and the settings will be saved.

You need to make a copy of the profile, rename NTUSER.MAN to NTUSER.DAT, logon using a test user, run Office once and logoff.
Then rename NTUSER.DAT back to NTUSER.MAN and allocate it to a real user (for further testing). All being well, then allocate the profile to all required users.
Yeh I followed the guides here and got a mandatory profile which was about 1 mb big and worked flawlessly since I changed it over. It made our logins about 5 times as fast.
One of the best things i've done on our network.
