Blue screen of death
I have Windows XP Pro with SP2 and it's shutting down. Its a new install and I havent run any MS updates yet apart from IE7 and Win Media player 11.
The following blue screen message apperas: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 {0x00000000 0x00000000}
Any ideas?

Can you get it to boot into safe mode?
If so try checking device manager for any problem devices. BSOD is often caused by old/no drivers.
I always install SP3 asap, and leave out IE7 (it still causes problems in certain areas).

12th September 2008, 09:52 AM #4 After your computer POSTs, press F8 and choose "Last good known configuration" and in turn Safe Mode if required.
If either of these do not work, I would either repair Windows or extract your hard drive, backup data and start again.
You may find this useful once you've got XP up and running!
