We currenty have an old exchange 2003 box (server1) in an exchange 2007 (server2) environment. The trouble is, i dont know which is the best way to remove it as we were using the 2003 machine before 2007. When an email is recieved, server1 recieves the mail on say 192.168.24.9 and then sends it to server2 on 192.168.24.16. If I take out server1 or turn it off, server2 doesnt know where the mail is to be sent to and i will also need to switch IP addresses, which isnt hard, just as DNS updates it self.
Can anyone help me on how to remove an exchange 2003 server.
Thanks
Tim
