11th September 2008, 12:16 PM #1 Start menu not in order for network users.............?
I would liek the Start Menu> Programs list to appear in alphabetical order for every user who logs on the PC. If i log on as admin and set it correctly (Right Click and Sort by Name) and its fine. As soon as i log onto as a pupil then the menu is out of order. I have checked AD GPO and can't find anything in there.
The pupils have mandatory profile, i thought it may be to do with this but i have added 4 extra software titles on the pc and 2 are in Alphabetical order and 2 are not - so there seems no logic.
Any idea?

11th September 2008, 12:42 PM #2 I do not think there is an AD setting to do this but you can delete the reg key that holds the sort order, by deleting it it goes back to alphabetical. Create a batch file using.
REGEDIT 4
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu]
Place the batch file in the user startup scripts folder and add the batch file as a logon script.
Please test it before you deploy.
