Hi All,
We are running a citrix enviroment in our school and most people log on to dumb terminals and then onto one of our 8 blade servers. We are also using mandatory profiles and we a user logs off the profile gets wiped from the server.
A problem i have come across with mandatory profiles is that even though we have group policies in place to set the users homepage, it sets the homepage to MSN. In the past we kept the profiles on the servers and we the user logged off and back on again it then mapped the homepage to the desired intranet page.
However as you could imagine this clogged up the c:\ of the terminal server.
Obviously now everytime a user logs on to a server it creates a brand new local profile and sets the homepage as MSN.
Is there anyway i can stop this? because my users never get redirected to our intranet site.
Thanks

20th August 2008, 07:15 PM #2 Rename the profile NTUSER.MAN to NTUSER.DAT, logon as a temporary user using this profile, open IE and the page should be what you specified by GPO.
Now logoff and rename NTUSER.DAT back to NTUSER.MAN. What happens when a user logs on and opens IE now?

You can set it in GP to delete cached profiles on log off, thus not giving you a load of profiles on the C drive of the server. Its not just for manditory profiles... we run roaming profiles and choose this feature on some TS / citrix servers and disable it on others
Cheers
