    OpenFire and AD

    Hi,

I've been trying to get openfire to talk to AD. Heres my setup...

    DOMAIN.SCH.UK

    OU-Staff
    OU-Openfire
    Group-Openfireusers

I understand that some people on here have problems and some also got it working.

I got it working so that all staff users can authenticate. I want it so that only users that are a member of openfireusers can connect. I also want it so that the groups appear in the list. So in the future we'll have openfire_supportstaff, openfire_admin, openfire_teachers and they would be in everyones contact list.

The search filters i've been applying don't want to work! ;(

Could someone please post there openfire.xml file with a general overview of their AD structure? I've taken and used the current one on this site only I think its not compatible with my version anymore.

    We're using Openfire v3.5.2

Appreciate all your help, trying to get it working before Septemeber. We've been using the bogstandard setup whereby we add users manually for trials so far.

We aren't using openfire currently but i remember having to setup a group and place it in a particular OU then set the search on that OU, any users that you then add to this group will appear on the operfire server.

    Code:
    <searchFilter>(memberOf=CN=openfireusers,ou=openfire,ou=MYUsers,dc=domain,dc=sch,dc=uk)</searchFilter>

    Code:
    <host>server1</host>
      <port>389</port>
      <baseDN>ou=MYUsers;dc=domain,dc=sch,dc=uk</baseDN>
      <adminDN>cn=openfire,cn=MYusers,dc=domain,dc=sch,dc=uk</adminDN>
      <adminPassword>password</adminPassword>
      <connectionPoolEnabled>true</connectionPoolEnabled>
      <sslEnabled>false</sslEnabled>
      <ldapDebugEnabled>false</ldapDebugEnabled>
      <autoFollowReferrals>false</autoFollowReferrals>
      <usernameField>sAMAccountName</usernameField>
      <searchFilter>(memberOf=CN=openfireusers,ou=openfire,ou=MYUsers,dc=domain,dc=sch,dc=uk)</searchFilter>
