Clear stored username/pass in IE6
I am having trouble clearing a users stored password information in IE6. We have tried to clear the forms and passwords, etc in the Internet Options, but that doesn't work. We've cleared temps, cookies, history, etc. and nothing has helped. We eventually have had to reimage the computer to get it to clear the user/password information. It is in an authentication window that pops up (similar to a window if you use .htaccess file), not an html login window.

I think it's using the 'standard' windows save password feature, which stores them independantly to Internet Explorer. The options to clear saved passwords in IE are only applicable to form passwords I think, but this is a little bit different.
However, this group policy change may help you to stop users saving passwords like that one I think. http://windowsitpro.com/article/arti...i-feature.html
Give it a go, I've not tried it so no idea if it will work for your purpose, but it's likely that it will.

This is what I found after doing a google search for a little while:
If you go to run and put rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr, you will get a dialog box that comes up and you can remove any saved passwords from there. Even if you clear your autocomplete in IE, there were still some in here and this solved my issue.

Have you tried resetting IE6 back to defaults? Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
This may be an easier option for you?
