SMS WSUS Synchronization failed

I am getting the following error when i try to get sccm 2007 to sync with wsus
I tried reinstalling it
Checked the ports are the same both ends
Sccm 2007 server has rights on the wsus server
Googled it tried most suggestions but no luck



SMS WSUS Synchronization failed.


Message: WSUS server not configured.
Source: CWSyncMgr:oSync.
The operating system reported error 2147500037: Unspecified error

Just a quick update on this Microsoft have spent 3 weeks on this with over hours of phone calls and remote systems still not fixed but now narrowed down to.

Configuration Manager is a 32bit app that has some problems running on 64bit hardware (They say it should work)

When they get a fix i will post it here for any other members who get stuck with this problem.
