Exchange 2007 - Deny sending to Dist Groups.
We are bring students onto our Exchange Server this summer. I would like to know if anyone has found a simple way of denying students the ability to send mail to distrubution groups?
I think i can do this via the mail flow settings in EXC Sys manager, but i have a lot of groups and am trying to work if if there is a neater way of doing it.
Thanks

23rd September 2008, 11:33 AM #2 We've just done the same thing with students having their emails. what we have found is that if you go into 'Recipient Configuration' and then 'Distribution Group' select the group which you dont wont the students to send to, and select properties, in the 'Mail Flow Settings' then select 'Message Delivery Restrictions' and Properties and at the bottom there is a box that says 'Reject Messages From...' and you can add all the students in that way it will accept groups.

).
Students are denied all but those that they need to send to - Student voice etc. They can still select them and try to send mail but they get an email back telling them that they're denied.
