    GPMC- running it remotely

    Hi,

Sorry to start a new thread on this but could not find the answer to my question.
Until now I have been using the GPMC built into my 2K3 SP1 server but it is getting a bit of a pain to keep logging on remotly to the servers to do the work. Is there any way of setting up the GPO editing tools on my local XP machine which is now at SP3.
    Cheers

    Peter

The GPMC is a download from MS and can be found at http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=re...VI9bj7LXqAF1HA

...along with a suite that MS call 'adminpak.msi' which will give you the rest of the tools

    Unhappy

    Hi again,

Thanks for all the replies sorry it took so long but I have been fighting a rogue Bloxx policy which randomly blocked access the M'Soft and the M'Soft down load site
I have loaded the excecutable and run it O.K so far but then it reports it needs the .Net frame work installing - odd, I thought I already had this but I tried to install the .Net frame, work see above, and finally got it to work this morning.
Go back to installing GPMC and it still says it needs the .Net frame work installing.
Any ideas before the PC gets crash tested out of the window.
    Cheers
    Peter

I would install .NET Framework 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 which should definitely solve the problem

Most MS software now does need at least 1.1, if it doesn't work that's the first thing to check.
