Does anyone use the BBC Bitesize revision website? After a random time, whether the browser has been active within the site or not, Internet Explorer errors. The error logged in the Event Log is:
Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x051863b0.
We think this is connected with Mandatory Profiles or possibly redirected Application Data but can't say for certain.

We have it so it hangs at times, normally right when they have been doing one of the online quizes or tests, which are very useful items. Its annoying, and we have contacted them about it. It does seem to happen more often to those "standard users" eg kids and staff, but as usaual the Beeb were there usual self - no we cannot help you, information on our sites setup is confidential, we will not confirm any ports required etc.... So we gave up on it.

Re: Problems with BBC bitesize page.
We get it as well, students have non-mandatory roaming profiles with redirected application dats folders and redirected desktops.
I have had one student report they had the same problem at home on her own PC where she probably had full admin rights.
Sadly I know that does not help much with fixing the problem.

Has anyone ever complained to the BBC about the site or even contacted the BBC?

Yup, I have contacted them and they basically say, thanks for contacting us, we will not get back to you, its all confidential, private etc....
I find chocolate fireguards more useful than the BBC on that area.

Same here, problems with links timing out or internet explorer crashing. Not had any reports of other sites causing these problems.

Same here as well. Certain pages make IE crash. Both domain PCs and non domain laptops. Conection is direct to E2BN Proxy.
Only seems to be the BBC that causes it.

Re: Problems with BBC bitesize page.
I've just had the site open for an hour, randomly clicking.. and I can't kill it. I'm on the same E2BN as Sysman, and we have an ISA server...
Weird...
