SP3 killing Activboards?
I've just had a Fujitsu Siemens laptop running XP SP3 with a strange problem, every time you would plug in the USB lead for the Promethean proActiv board, it would bluescreen immediately. Uninstalling SP3 seems to have cleared it, has anoyone else had this issue?

I had an issue with everytime I plugged the board it, it reset the computer. Then, when it restarted, it worked fine... Found out that it was a dodgy usb port, and finally blew the motherboard. Maybe yours is a dodgy usb port on the machine?!

Fortunately it's not that, as I've had 3 laptops with the same issue, two triggered by plugging in in the activboard, and one that did it with a bog standard HP optical mouse.
It seems that SP3 is changing the USB mouse/HID device drivers somehow, and the laptops are throwing a fit because of it.

we had this happen a couple of years ago and it turned out to be Symantec ghost client on the machine clashing with Mcafee so we updated the client and all was well.

Sounds like a good possibility it's software releated, as I've got 12 boards here with the promethean on, and not had any probs with sp3 so far (*touch wood*). And I've got another school I go to with 9 promethean boards, and I installed SP3 to them at beginning of week with no problems yet (unless when I go in tomorrow, they complain!). So I do think it's likely to be a driver/software issue. Do you have the latest activeboard driver? 4.1.13 is the latest that I've seen...

I've deployed it today, might give SP3 a go over summer, possibly with a fresh image.
