This is a weird one!
I noticed that the computers in two of our ict classrooms were missing VGA drivers. So I went and installed the drivers on all machines only to find when i checked this morning THAT THEY HAD GONE!
Is there anyway to stop this? The classrooms have Lenovo M55e 9362-CTO's. I have also noticed that our other two rooms (with dell optiplex machines) has the same problem.
Any suggestions?
Craig

Maybe system file checker (system restore) is getting uppity and not recognizing them as an allowed system change.
I would try disabling SFC (system file checker) on the computer, installing the drivers, rebooting and then re-enabling SFC which should make it recognize the driver as allowed files.
The setting is under:
System Properties > System Restore (tab)

Normally if drivers are disappearing, they're probably the wrong drivers. Just a thought!?
Are you writing from Lode Heath School in Solihull? That's where I attended Secondary School, all those years ago![]()

So are you saying the graphics are loading up in 640 x 480 mode? Are the drivers signed? And have you enforced policies to only allow signed drivers?
XP's default is prompting the user to allow/disallow installation, but Vista only accepts signed drivers by default. There's another thought, are the drivers compatible with the OS you're using? Probably 2000/XP, maybe Vista? Vista requires updated drivers in most cases.
