    Is it freeware/shareware software TechMonkey?

    If not, please remove that public link please.

    Freeware and open source. The only addition to it is the LAME MP3 encoder which is freeware too as far as I am aware. Wouldn't put up a pay for MSI, don't worry

    @ZeroHour: What issues have you found? Don't remember any problems putting around but it was a bit of a rush job as Music needed NOW!!

    Yeh it *should* not fail on deploy. Remove *may* have issues. It mostly just needs a wee clean mate thats all I think

    Ohhh yes. Is it the Wbem folder? We have an issue that means that fodler keeps getting caught up meaning removal is a pain. I've gradually been going around removing those entries but either haven't got round to that one or missed it.

    My finished MSI will try to remove your msi if its installed to allow it to upgrade.

    BTW - You can stick Audacity in a network share and run it without installing it - just download the ZIP version at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows

    Re: Audacity MSI needed

    Hi
    Did anyone ever create a new msi for audacity with LAME built in that they'd like to share? IT teacher just asked if we could put it on the network.

    Cheers

    Re: Audacity MSI needed

    I made one without WinINSTALL LE but without the mp3 codec.

    Just added that to a Shared rea with basic instructions for users to add it if needed.

    The students are really getting into it. With them recording the online radio reminds me of my old home taping days.

    Re: Audacity MSI needed

    Just found a cool adm template for setting the mp3 encoder path for audacity via an ADCU policy

    Make a group policy template to apply to users of the audacity installed machines.

    Or use a product like Policymaker Registry Extention to make the reg key you need.

    You can get the dll file from the LAME zip direclty off the LAME site

    Template start.....
    ---------------------

    CLASS USER

    CATEGORY !!ThirdParty
    KEYNAME "Software"

    CATEGORY !!Audacity
    KEYNAME "Software\Audacity"

    POLICY !!MP3

    KEYNAME "Software\Audacity\Audacity\MP3"
    EXPLAIN !!MP3Path
    ;VALUENAME "MP3LibPath"

    PART !!CodecPath EDITTEXT
    VALUENAME "MP3LibPath"
    DEFAULT !!DefaultPath
    END PART

    END POLICY ;Codecs
    END CATEGORY ;Audacity
    END CATEGORY ;ThirdParty

    [strings]
    MP3="MP3 Codec"
    MP3Path="Set the path to the MP3codec.\n\nThis is required for Audacity to encode into MP3, as Audacity does not ship with an MP3 codec.\n\nLeaving this setting as Not Configured will make Audacity have the default behaviour of prompting each user. To Enable, enter the full path to the dll file.\n\nExample: C:\Program Files\Audacity\Plug-Ins\lame-enc.dll"
    ThirdParty="ThirdParty"
    Audacity="Audacity"
    DefaultPath="C:\Program Files\Audacity\Plug-Ins\lame_enc.dll"
    CodecPath="Path to the MP3 encoder: "
