Hi all,
Is there a way of disabling set picture to background from the right click menu?
It is currently set in Group Policy as disabled for the allow change background option. But is there away of getting rid of the set to background option via right click?
As we currently set the background via a script. But the 'little darlings' (as there parents would call them) have worked out how to change it. And basically I want to stop them :P
Cheers

2nd May 2008, 12:07 PM #4 We use BGInfo and also use teh GPO settings
GPO -> User Config -> Admin Templates -> Desktop -> Active Desktop..
- Enable Active Desktop --> Disabled
- Disable Active Desktop --> Enabled
- Disable All Items --> Enabled
- Prohibit Changes --> Enabled
- Prohibit Adding Items --> Enabled
- Prohibit Deleting Items --> Enabled
- Prohibit Editing Items --> Enabled
- Prohbit Closing Items --> Enabled
- Add/Delete Items --> Not Configured
- Active Desktop Wallpaper --> Enabled (C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Winternals\BGInfo\BGInfo.bmp)
- Allow only Bitmapped wallpaper --> Disabled
The path in red reflects where BGInfo stores its wallpaper IIRC..
This gives us the use of BGInfo but also prevents them changing the background..

13th October 2008, 11:48 AM #5 I'm a bit confused about your policy settings there, You've told it twice with the top two not to use Active Desktop, then specify lower down that when using Active Desktop to use the file C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Winternals\BGInfo\BGInfo.bmp. But Active Desktop is disabled...

13th October 2008, 11:54 AM #6 My Bad, those top two just enable/disable JPEG format pictures.
Thanks for the location of the BGInfo generated file though, been looking for a way to keep BGInfo but stop them changing the wallpaper after someone last week did a background of Osama Bin Laden and then some womans bum in a thong. Dispicable.
