Just a quick survey, what do you use on your images for playing...
DVDs
RealPlayer
Quicktime
Any other misc formats
We used to have Quicktime \ Real Alternative then moved to K-Lite for the DVD playing functions as well plus the other codecs but reading further I'm not sure how legit the whole package is.
VLC seems a better option for DVD playing but what about the others, I really don't want the crapfest that is RealOne on the network, plus isn't there a licensing issue where in theory you'd have to pay to put it on an image? Same goes for Quicktime as well, hateful software!

As for player, I use Media Player Classic.
