I would like to do the following with our GPOs and WSUS
- download udpates from wsus
- user keeps working
- user turn machine off
- machine installs updates at startup
although i don't want any messages popping up about rebooting
how can i go around doing this?
Thanks in advance
Dan

10th April 2008, 01:48 PM #2 You can't quite do all that. Everything is possible apart from installing at startup. However it is possible to install at shutdown (and it's also the default).

ok at shutdown will be fine
edit: will it also get rid of this message poping up every 10 minutes while the user is logged on

10th April 2008, 02:00 PM #4 All the settings you need are in the computer configuration. Under Admin Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Updates. The key ones for you are:
Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications = Disabled (you need to set this in the user policy too)
Configure Auto Updates -> 3. Download and Notify for install
No auto restart with logged on users = Enabled
