Anyone have a script for adding a printer on a printserver (can't remember make I'm at home now!) to xp machines. I've used con2prt to add a printer with it's own network card but it won't work for this one on a printserver. We have server 2003 mainly w98 clients which aren't a problem, and a few xp machines, we use gpo for these not roaming profiles.
Also with con2prt it will only install the printer with it's manufacturer's name not how the staff and pupils recognise it ie suite colour.
Printers are the bane of my life at the moment!

con2prt should also be able to add to the UNC share name (or netbios share name) ... \\<servername>\<printername>
I never had any problems ...
for xp machines use printui.dll ... similar to con2prt, just use the /? switch to look at all the options. (at home too so don't have the script to hand)

There's also Ric's script for 2k/XP.

Might even work on win98 with WSH. Any idea Ric?

@Geoff: Tried that in Silverdale... it may have been the bad weather and lack of heating (during half term) but I gave up trying to get WSH to work properly on Win98.
