I have just found a problem. I have just created an image with all windows updates and knocked it off the domain before taking the image.

When the image was restored it on the same spec of machine, it logged on ok but you could not access my computers properties at all. I tried new sid and sysprep but no help. I finally had to repair windows , use sysprep and join to domain then I did windows updates. Just to see I knocked it off the domain and could not access system properties again when you logged back on. I think a windows update is breaking things.

I repeated the process by running the repair and joined the domain and it would come on and off the domain with no problems then I did the windows update.

An hour later another machine on the network had to be moved and the network tech removed it from the domain and it had the same problem.

I do hope Microsoft repair this bodge.
