    Installing Drivers - URGENT

    Hi all,

    I have just reimaged the whole ICT suite to find that it has not installed the sound driver!!.

    Does anyone know of a way to install it to all machines without having to go to each one eg group policy deploy or similar.

    I only have an exe of the driver as well as the deiver files them selves and have been unsucesful in trying to extract an msi from it.

    any help or advice greatly appreciated

    Is there a silent install switch on the EXE? (usually /s, /S, /q, /Q, /quiet, etc.)

    If there is, the Windows Installer Wrapper Wizard is your friend or you can simply stick it in a startup script.

    When you create the image, do you tell sysprep that drivers are to be found in a particular folder but the files for this card were left out of the folder? (eg we put a folder "c:\drivers" on the image and mini-setup looks there for drivers)

    If this is the case and you can find the .inf file etc which are needed then you can copy the files there with a startup script and used devcon (MS tool) to force a rescan - this should then install the drivers.

    forgot about that :-)

    We have:

    Code:
    [GuiRunOnce]
    Command0 = "c:\drivers\KB835221.exe /quiet"
    in the sysprep.inf file - this runs the MS hotfix you need to allow HD Audio drivers to install

    come on this is easy,

    1. download the image, add the drivers upload and re clone

    2. logon to all the pcs and load the drivers manually

    both of which would take less than an hour surely? (would here with ghost or one or 2 people loading drivers)
