Re: Restricting 'Rip' from Windows Media Player

I just tried it out on a couple of machines with another WMP skin, and it didn't work.

Rip was still accessible from Options/Rip/"Rip CD when inserted" option.

I really didn't want to have to create a custom skin as it looked a bit long winded, but it looks as though I'll have to give that a go :-(

I'll post if I manage to get it working.

    Cheers
    Karl

i was just wondering if you ever found anything about this, and were able to disable the rip facility in windows media player as it would be a good think to disable as i constantly have to delete music from there drives.

You could always remove the audio cable that runs between the cdrom and motherboard/soundcard. A bit of a pain if you've got a lot of machines but that would do the job.

I forced the classic skin which removes the ripping feature.
