    Scripting services restart.

    Hi.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way for me to script two services on our DC to stop/start every hour or so?

We have problems with some of our printers here where someone will print, it'll error, and just hold up the queue until i restart two services.

Is there a way to script this?

    Thanks.

Put this in a .bat file and schedule it to run when you want, or have one for stopping the service and one for starting.

    net stop servicename

    net start servicename

What are the model/make of the printers causing this problem? I had a similar problem recently with HP 2600n's. Unticking Bidirectional support made all the difference.

    Yes, it is the 2600n's.
Ive disabled that, and we'll see how it goes, if it still happens, i'll use the above posted script to restart the spooler and quota software every lesson change over. .

I also was forced to stop and start the spooler, but as soon as Bidirectional support was unticked, it was a thing of the past
