Password Reset form for ICT staff

Has anyone got something like this setup?

I don't quite fancy giving staff the access to using active directory MMC is their a easy option where staff get a drop down box of pupils names and they just reset their password?

    Thanks

    Ross

Have a look at Password Control

Some of my schools use it, and it appears to work for them.

Pass Manager from MST Software might do the trick.

You could do it through IISADMPWD, which is included in IIS 4.0+ but you need to set it up. Link below give instructions on how to get it to work, just ignore the sections about exchange.

    Rob.
That one seems to be the best so far.

Any suggestions on giving the ICT staff permissions to be able to reset student passwords only?

    Can this be done?

We do this through our Staff Intranet. Any member of staff can change a student password through the PHP front end, logged in as themselves. This then calls a VB Script at the server and makes the LDAPS change. I would say it's reduced the password change 'visitor' numbers to the ICT Office by at least 80% and has been highly praised by all staff who've used it for its simplicity. One reason why it's so simple is that it pulls the student's DOB from SIMS and sets the password to DDMMYY, not even requiring the student to leave their seat. The only people it hasn't gone down well with are the students who like the excuse to leave the room!

Try our SSPR and let them do it themselves

Plexer, I want the Teachers to be able to do it for their students. Not the students to do it themselves.

Just create a taskpad using the mmc, restriced to what you want them to do.

    No need for extra software.
