Anyone installed this? It removed the old one and then installed the new one, when it comes to configuring it I get to the proxy setting and try and connect and it fails.
One time it says its authentication error, the next its a different error message. The proxy settings are defo right. Think it might be a renistallation to try it as an hour on google hasn't solved anything.

20th February 2008, 03:16 PM #2 Can you see if it's actually trying to use the proxy before failing? i.e proxy logs showing connections from WSUSbox -> proxy?
I set up a rule in squid allowing our wsus server to access microsoft update sites without authentication.

Yeah its set to bypass authetication when it accesses MS updates, worked fine before the service pack. Will try a good old fashioned reboot this weekend.

Also, if the WSUS box is on the LAN, IE should/could be setup to "bypass proxy server for local addresses."
I'm curious if the reboot worked. My WSUS 3.0 snap-in keeps freezing while I am approving updates. Haven't been i position to reboot the server yet.

20th February 2008, 08:06 PM #7 I haven't had the time to upgrade to WSUS 3.0 SP1, however I am guessing this would be a must read!

22nd February 2008, 03:44 PM #9 Okay so I fixed it but its not my fault.. honest.
I upgraded SchoolGuardian last week and the migration didn't take the 'do not authentication these domains' settings with the upgrade.
I stupidly thought it was a windows error, me bad.
