A teacher had problems logging on due to her roaming profile not being available, so windows used a local profile instead.
Her email client had to be configured for this machine, once it was done it downloaded all her emails from the exchange server.
She said that she was able to see all her emails in her inbox.
When she logs on today on her normal machine all her old emails that was in the root of her inbox have disappered, she only sees emails sent to her Monday, Tuesday all her other emails have completly disappered.
She also logged onto the machine that was giving her the roaming profile error message and her emails still didnt show up.
Also in her unread folder it says she has loads of emails unread but she says that she has read them all, also when you go into that folder and read one of these emails it disappears completly from outlook.
Any Idea as to where these emails are and what is going on? Especially the ones that was in the root of her inbox.
Much appricated if any one can help me out with this problem
Thanks.
A quick check for anything like this (assuming you're using an Exchange server) is to use Outlook Web Access. If that works OK and all the email is in the right place, then it's a PICNIC problem :-)
In Outlook, check the filters which are applied (View | Current View - make sure messages is ticked). Users have ways of selecting random messages - eg unread messages only, last 7 days only etc - and this causes all sorts of grief!
