Please don't ask people to illegally copy their software and send it to you.
It doesn't matter if you have the licence or not.
You will have to contact the resellers and purchase a new cd

Contact Steinberg they will sell you a new CD
Argh id rather not pay top dollar for a gold plated shiney disk.
Ive asked some companys including Ramesys but they dont stock media for older products
Anyone else got any ideas?

Sorry but you have no choice but to purchase a new copy from them if it's available.
Ben

use ardour it's free and more like protools.
okay can i rephrase me request then:
Does anyone have a SPARE CD of Cubase SX 2, which they could give me?
As this IS legal...

Here's the real kicker.
Yes I do
PM me your address.
Now that you've said sx2 and not mx2 as per your title.
Ben
Thanks Cybernerd, we'll look at that,
Really, we need a basic score editor, we got SX 2 as we couldnt buy any more licenses of the older version.
tbh SX 2 is FAR to complicated for the students and they hate it, but some of the more IT literate ones can find their way around it...
we have 9 comps in music at the mo, 5 have the old version with the big fat parallel dongles, 4 have the USB key things, which we put card with internal usb sockets in so the students dont steal them
But anything thats FREE, basic and doesnt use keys sounds good to me![]()

Erm hang on hold fire on that.
Got the mac cd here must have the pc ver somewhere.
Ben
Hurrar, Thanks Plextor, i'll Pm you my address now !
oh dear, we dont have any mac's :P

I should have a windows cd some where had 2 of them.
Trouble is when we upgraded to Cubase 4 we had lost both SX2 dongles.
We had to buy a new full version of Cubase 4.
So I also have a Cubase 4 upgrade for sale, you would have to also pay arbiter to transfer the licence.
I'll look for the cd tomorrow.
Ben
Thanks Ben,
just see what you can find
if Cubase 4 is the same then i suggest you get some £7 usb cards from dabs, with 4 ports on the back and 2 internal.
and put the keys in the internal ports, the students dont even know they are there
I think we need to stick to MX2 as were already finding it hard enough with two versions floating around.
Id like to use the new dongles on the old software, but it doesn't work like that, and im not sure about downgrade rights :\.
The old version is cubase VST 3.7
and its fantastic![]()
