Software recommendation please.

We want to be able to automatically add to each print from a network printer the username of the student printing. Perhaps the time and date too.

We are using print manager plus at present to limit student printing with a credit system and also to charge staff for printing, this software does nt seem to have the facility we now need.

Any recommendations please.

How about "banner" pages? You switch it on in the driver and it prints a single sheet with the username (and other info I can't remember) before the job prints.

Ah - yes but what we are trying to do is SAVE paper and this generates an extra sheet for each print job lol

I use a Linux based print system, Cups and Pykota. It allows me to add/alter headers and footers on printouts to include this information.
