I've noticed that quite a few resources in our shared areas are duplicated, i'd like to provide the ability for staff to search our shared areas to see if content exists before adding duplicated resources.
Anyone using or concidering using this or do you already have an alternative running?

16th January 2008, 03:53 PM #4 Looks nice, but the specs are double that of any servers on my network.
2gigs of ram? Our main server only has one, hang on, I wonder if thats why or net work is a bit on the slow side.
Is this the response to the google search boxes?

16th January 2008, 04:48 PM #5 Looks nice. My main question would be whether it can be integrated via an API into other applications - such as a school website in joomla, or SIMS.net etc...

16th January 2008, 08:02 PM #6 Wow, that does look very nice. Shame you need silverlight to watch the videos (linux client here) but I get the idea. We have a spare server, quite a rarity, so I'll see if I can get the go ahead to get this set up.

1GB of ram for your PDC is too low, imho. We have two and were (effectively) down to 1 gig for a short time when SQL server was memory leaking a gig and that did have a big impact.

9th March 2008, 12:37 PM #8 has anyone else tried using this yet? Kind of hoping that after a couple of months that people would be using it more and I could pick brains :-)
I've now installed it several times using default settings and it just doesn't work (can't connect to database but no indication of why!). Using the manual install I can kind of get it working but it doesn't create a search site so I've tried to do it manually but not sure if I got it right. It appears to crawl OK but I can't get anything to be found from the index (even when I search for terms on pages which I know it's crawled).
Just downloading the pre-configured VHD of it to see if that works...
All I really want is a way to search Moodle content - has anyone done that successfully either with this or another tool?
