    Serial SmartBoards

Is there a special way of installing the old serial connect smart boards? We have a couple of them and I have just put a new machine into the room and tried to get it to see the smart board and it won't recognise it at all.

Make sure you've got power going to the board. They're normally powered from the PS2 serial connection at the Y end of the cable. Also, make sure you're using the smart supplied serial cable.

We've got about 25, all using the offcial smart USB to serial cable. Works very well (although they are expensive).

Going off at a tangent slightly, we're also using the smart serial-to-usb connection for our smartboard. However we've had problems whereby after the board is aligned it'll work fine but over a period of time, inexplicibly, we'll get a slight delay when closing applications or dialog boxes in windows xp when tapping on the board. We're then forced reallign to get it to work properly again.

Have you experienced this problem, and if so, what can we do to resolve it ?
