Thats why testing is important. My ideal for workstations is win 7 x64, office 2010 x86, antivirus, ie9. Admitally google no longer support it. M$ have created quite a few issues with win8/8.1. I just think xp has had its day the quicker the remaing pcs are refreshed onto 7 the better.

One of the healthcare information systems my company developed and maintains has about 25% of its users on IE6. I'm lead to believe that most of those are remote desktop terminals ran by private IT companies.
