    BBC Iplayer Downloads

Is anyone using the new BBC Iplayer Downloads which replaced the BBC Desktop Player?

I cant seem to find a way to :

Change the default location of the install - Auto install into users local Appdata

Change the default save location for all downloaded programmes - Again defaults to users local Appdata folder.

It looks like the buggers have hard coded the install location to LocalAppDataFolder in the MSI. I don't know if there's much you can do to change that sadly.

Yeah i've tried it as well and found that. Its like how Google Chrome used to be, installs only into the profile of the user logged on. Good one BBC

I've managed to successfully change the default install folder to the "Program Files" folder with the attached MST.

It should be possible to modify the default save location using the "Compatibility Administrator" in Microsoft's Application Compatibility Toolkit, but I haven't had much luck so far because I think the %AppData%\BBCiPlayerDownloads folder needs to be redirected too. This is where the application saves information about the programmes it downloads (and it gets deleted when the MSI is uninstalled).

Did you want to change the path so that the programmes were downloaded to a network drive (or for some other reason)?

    Parameters
    Code:
    -b "%UserProfile%\Documents\My Videos\BBC iPlayer Downloads;%SystemDrive%\Downloads"
    Attached Files Attached Files

@Arthur - I just didnt want to have to install IPlayer for every user who would use the PC (which is what it looked like I would have to do if it installed to users local appdata).
I want to install once and then peeps can have programmes downloaded to their local appdata folder I suppose it wont matter then.

In that case, the MST is all you need.
