Geoff knows how to get it to do on-access protection... I cannot remember but I know that it doesn't do it natively (yet). I used to have it set to scan files after they downloaded.... never fell foul of a virus wilst using it but I do run IPCop with CopGuardian which virus checks everything coming in.
We use ClamWin & since it has been installed we haven't suffered any virus attacks. I now they haven't sorted out real time scanning yet, but I expect it will be if a future update.
I have it set to scan every evening & it has picked up a few, but these are deleted & I am informed via Email.
We used to use Symantec Anti-Virus (corporate) but this was getting expensive to update. Used AVG for a while, but that started to get expensive also. Asked our Network service technicians & they suggested ClamWin. No complaints here.
Winpooch + Clamwin will allow you to do realtime scanning.

Winpooch can be a bit 'noisy' until you get the whitelist sorted out though.
Also beware using Winpooch with any anticheat/drm software. Some of them take offence to the API hooking method it uses.
Cheers Geoff - juct checking this out now.
I would have checked this out, but RM have the site blocked. I will have a look from home.
Thanks for the info Geoff
The downloads are hosted by sourceforge. Hopefully RM haven't blocked that.

Cheers Geoff. No they haven't blocked sourceforge now, but a month or two ago they did. I had to get on to them about this as I couldn't download ClamWin, as that is also hosted by sourceforge. They said that there are some sites that required blocking, so instead of doing those sites they chose the whole of sourceforge. They have seen the errors of their ways & have been slapped on the wrist.
Thanks for the link.
