OCS and GLPI
Hello, scanned high and low but am not sure how you guys manage it.
I have installed OCS and GLPI - working great btw and have used a couple of computer rooms to test it all on over a few weeks.
A quick test was to rename a computer rooms computers to something else and see how GLPI would manage it.
In the inventory the new pc name appeared for a few of them. So I then decided to import new computers. It listed all the new named machines that already exist.
How do you manage your duplicates? Is there something I must do first in OCS before sync'ing. Do you turn automatic sync'ing off etc.
Any advice on how you guys do it would be very much appreciated. Like other users of EduGeek, they all put "GLPI forums are poop".
Thanks

I have OCS set to have 'AUTO_DUPLICATE_LVL' as 'macaddress' only. Then I run the 'Link new to old' option in GLPI. This solves 99% of our duplicates.
The problem I have with GLPI is that the forums are more focussed at the french users. English support is limited at best.

Re: OCS and GLPI
Thanks Localzuk,
I've done what you suggested in OCS. In GLPI theres an option in the setup screen of the OCSNG mode under Setup.
It says things like "Existence criteria of a computer".
Is the idea of that to check that the name must be the same, the mac must be the same and the serial else it will make a new record, or is it just any of them must be met?
Oooh great bit of programming, I think we'll crack it in the end.
