    All I could do was identify the affected machines and manually un/install. A mess.

    Installing Java JDK 7u45 through SCCM is pretty straight forward, I only used the /s switch in the command line, as part of the package. jdk-7u45-windows-i586.exe /s

    I use the following cmd file through SCCM. Uninstalls the old version 6 copies we have, and installs 7u45 in it's place.

    I had to change the extensions of the deployment files as my DP kept erroring when, I'm guessing, it tried to distribute the .config file.

    @echo OFF
    setlocal ENABLEEXTENSIONS

    taskkill /F /IM iexplore.exe
    taskkill /F /IM javaw.exe
    taskkill /F /IM jqs.exe
    taskkill /F /IM jusched.exe

    set msi=jre1.7.0_45.msi

    ::Install JRE x86
    msiexec.exe /i %~dp0%msi% /quiet /norestart IEXPLORER=1

    :isable autoupdating
    reg delete “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Run” /v SunJavaUpdateSched /f
    reg add “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft\Java Update\Policy” /v EnableJavaUpdate /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    ::Put on the Java config files to disable the expiration autocheck
    mkdir %SystemRoot%\Sun\Java\Deployment
    copy %YOUR SERVER DETAILS%\deploymentconfig.txt %SystemRoot%\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.config /y
    copy %YOUR SERVER DETAILS%\deploymentproperties.txt %SystemRoot%\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.proper ties /y

    ::Finally uninstall old Java
    MsiExec.exe /X{26A24AE4-039D-4CA4-87B4-2F83216011FF} /q /norestart
    MsiExec.exe /X{26A24AE4-039D-4CA4-87B4-2F83216024FF} /q /norestart

    ::exit and return success
    exit 0

    I'm using a powershell script to deploy it now:

    Code:
    param (
        [string]$JavaPath = ".",
        [string]$JavaInstallerx86 = "jre-7u45-windows-i586.exe",
        [string]$JavaInstallerx64 = "jre-7u45-windows-x64.exe"
        )

    #This scans the PC for any existing Java installation and nukes them if found
    Get-WmiObject -Class win32_product | ? {$_.Name -like "*Java*"} | % {msiexec /x "$($_.IdentifyingNumber)" /qb /norestart | Out-Null}

    #This installs x86 and x64 Java. Default is 7u45 from working directory but both working directory and java version can be overridden from command line

    cmd /c $JavaPath\$JavaInstallerx64 /s
    cmd /c $JavaPath\$JavaInstallerx86 /s
    Seems to work. The only danger with it is that if there's another software title with "Java" in its name, it'll nuke that too I've also got SCCM set to deploy it only if no-one is logged on.

    Oh I know...
    Already have clients who can't access the web app because the web part prompts for an update (no "clean" way to disable that).

    Also this update is still getting held up at "Please Wait" or "Installing Java 51" for about 90 mins....

    Any ideas on how to fix it?

    I'm applying a transformation with just basic settings (disabling autoupdates / checking yes for I.E. and Mozilla / and adding "REMOVEEXISTING = 1 " to the end.

    I had put that down to the uninstall of 7u21, but very frustrating if it's a problem with the new version also.
