    Using Sharepoint

Does anyone have some tutorials or could explain to me how to use Sharepoint 2007 as an e-portfolio and forum system (we are currently setup for the capita webparts however they haven't released the version thats fully compatible) I thought I should try and get as much out of the system as I can seeing as the cost is quite high and ittech suggested using sharepoint as a forum solution.

Forums are easy, just Create a discussion board within them and post a new topic and voilla, simple as tht. I love it and the staff love it works really well.

SLK will do the E-portfolio stuff, but its far from finished. Still has a few showstopping bugs like it doesn't work with firefox and doesn't use relative links so you cant pipe it out to the internet. I have actually not tried the latest versions so this may be fixed now.

Personally I would not bother with e-portfolios for a few years until all the software matures.

This site is proving useful at our school for establishing eportfolios, and it appears to be free. when SMT finally decide which VLE/MLE they're going with then I assume Yacapaca will be dropped, but until then, it fills a needs.

Yeh, but that target is for 2009 or something and will no doubt be delayed/ignored

The software just isn't ready for the mainstream yet imo.
