    Mathtype 5

    Hey all,

I am struggling to create a package for Mathtype 5, which is a program our maths department use. It uses a rather old setup installer, and does not use any form of msi file or anything. Has anyone else used this program and managed to create an MSI for it? I want to deploy it to numerous clients using a GPO.

    Thanks

Is it just an exe? Can you pass switches to it ie /verysilent ?

If so have a look at Windows Installer Wrapper Wizard - WIWW

    You could try filename.exe /?

That might list the switch functions

Switches won't work, an error message comes up saying refer to the network administrator manual, which I do not have a copy of... nor can I retrieve from the manufacturers website...

Try the following for silent installs.

    /s
    /silent
    /vs
    /verysilent

If they dont work try capitalising the first charachers and/or all of them.

For an admin/network install /a might work.

    Re: Mathtype 5

Tried all those switches, after a bit of searching, I managed to track down the manual on google. However it had a load of switches which did anything but what I wanted to do.

Have managed to create an MSI in the end using Snapshot in Installshield Repackager

    Thanks all,
    Mark
