need help with wsus 3.0 urgent
I have 300 pcs in wsus 3.0
There are updates waiting to be installed on the clients.
My main pie charts are showing a lot of updates with no status.
Its almost like somethink is stopping the updates from being installed on the clients.
It also has yellow warning signs next to every pc. Yet most of them have checked in recently.

Have you configured the proxy settings for WinHTTP correctly?

I think so. This is all new to me so, its posible its wrong.
I'm also running sp1 on 2003.
I've just read on the net that it might work better with sp2

Run 'proxycfg' on one of your clients from the command line and ensure the settings are correct.

You should put SP2 on your server unless you have a reason not to.

we do have a isa proxy server.
Why would wsus need to use proxy just to install updates?
Its downloading files ok to the server through isa.
I've done sp2. no diffarent.
Would it help to delete all the update file on the server and download them again.?

Re: need help with wsus 3.0 urgent
thanks for your help. I seemed to have fixed it. I deleted a pc that had never checked in and suddenly it came alive.
Why this would do this i don't know. Perhaps a bug

We Use WSUS 3, and I assume this is the intended behaviour
i.e. an update will only list as installed if 100% of computers have checked in and reported with Yes thats installed or No, I dont need that.
If a computer hasnt reported either way the update will be listed as no status, even if there is only 1 machine that hasnt checked in.
