if i install a 2003 server, i can stick it in a 2000 domain and it wont break anything?

Yup, perfectly safe as a member server. As a domain controller however it will need to update the domain AD schema.
staying well away from domain controller role lol. gonna test out sharepoint server. thx.
No it wont. Not until you raise the domain/forests fuctional level to Windows 2003.Originally Posted by Dos_Box

What? Other than its a supported OS unlike 2k server will be after June?![]()

Well, new ish. Whilst on the subject. Have we all noticed that M$ has slowed to a crawl with it's OS updates\releases? We went from 95, 98, 98se, ME, 2000, and XP all in the space of 6 years. Now it's 5 years + from XP's rlease to Vista and everyone else seems to be running rings around them. Unless they have started to plan for Vistras replacement now they will be royally stuffed if they think we are going to wait 8 years for the next OS!! I think that M$ have just reached the point where they have got too huge to compete with more agile competitiors.
I agree completely. Interesting to watch their latest thrashing is backporting Vista features to XP. Doing so is giving potential customers less incentive to upgrade. Microsofts biggest competiton at the moment is itself and it has no clue how to deal with it.
